Job summary

The Deputy Head holds overall responsibility for the daily leadership of Al-Hikmah Kids Academy Boys’ School (Year 5-10). In close collaboration with the management team and heads of department, the deputy head supports a cohesive, high-quality educational experience rooted in Islamic values. A key part of the role is working with the female deputy head of the Girls’ School to ensure consistency across teaching, learning, and school culture in both divisions, enabling boys and girls to benefit equally from shared curriculum leadership, professional development and quality assurance.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the Boys’ School

  • Coordinate with the female Deputy Head of the Girls’ School to uphold quality and consistency across both schools

  • Ensure the quality of teaching and learning across all key stages

  • Support and mentor heads of department and teaching staff

  • Monitor curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with school values and learning objectives

  • Lead training sessions and support ongoing staff professional development

  • Promote pupil welfare and behaviour management in line with Islamic principles

  • Coordinate with admin and leadership on timetabling, assessments and school policy implementation

Candidate profile

We are seeking a dynamic and reflective educational leader who combines strong administrative and communication skills with a firm grounding in Islamic values.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience, with experience in leadership, mentoring, or coordination

  • Proven ability to guide, support and collaborate with a team

  • Strong organisational and clear communication skills

  • Practising Muslim, confident in upholding Islamic principles in an educational setting

  • Fluent in English and comfortable with remote communication and online systems

  • Familiarity with UK or international education standards is an advantage

 

School hours (UK time):

Monday to Thursday: 08:45-14:10 | Friday: 08:45-11:50

A flexible part-time schedule is to be agreed upon based on leadership responsibilities.

 

Remuneration:

  • Monthly salary based on experience, scope of duties and working hours. 

  • Performance-based bonuses and incentives
