  • What are the timings and days for the school?
    For Reception: Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 11:30am (UK time) For Primary and Secondary: Monday - Thursday 8:45 - 2:00pm (UK time) Assembly on Monday for primary and secondary at 8:45 AM; otherwise, class starts at 9:00 AM. Please make sure to check these timings in your local timezone to ensure your child attends classes at the correct times, in shaa Allah.
  • What age do you cater to?
    Reception: 4-5 years old Year 1: 5-6 years old Year 2: 6-7 years old Year 3: 7-8 years old Year 4: 8-9 years old Year 5: 9-10 years old Year 6: 10-11 years old Year 7: 11-12 years old Year 8: 12-13 years old Year 9: 13-14 years old Year 10: 14-15 years old Note: If for any reason you feel that your child would be better suited in a different year group, we are open to discussing this and making adjustments based on their individual needs.
  • Are there any additional fees?
    A small payment platform fee of 3.5% per transaction applies, which has been kept to a minimum. Other than that, we do not charge any administration or additional fees.

  • Can online schooling be as effective as traditional schooling for my child?
    Absolutely, In sha Allah! Online schooling offers a focused learning environment with fewer distractions and less social pressure, allowing children to concentrate better on their tasks compared to a traditional classroom setting. That said, parental involvement is key to ensuring your child thrives. Regularly checking on their progress and encouraging consistent participation can help them reach their full potential in the online school environment.
  • Is an online school best for my child?
    This is only something you and your child can figure out as its very dependent on the child’s character and the other alternatives. Some children do struggle with learning online and others thrive but الحمد لله we offer a free 2 day trial for those in doubt!
  • What curriculum does Al-Hikmah Kids Academy follow?
    At Al-Hikmah Kids Academy, we follow the British National Curriculum, ensuring a high standard of education that is recognized internationally. Moreover, we integrate this curriculum with Islamic principles, ensuring that all content aligns with our Islamic ethos. We carefully review and adapt content to ensure it reflects Islamic values, providing your child with a balanced education that prepares them for success both in this life and the Hereafter (aakhirah).
  • Will my child have homework?
    Yes, students will have homework typically once a week per subject. All homework and assignments are posted on the Seesaw app and mentioned in class.
  • Can my child only attend 2 or 3 subjects or do they have to attend all of them?
    We advise all students to take part in all lessons. However, the price remains the same regardless of how many classes your child partakes in.
  • Does an online school technically mean my children are homeschooled?
    Yes, it does as your children are learning from home and it is perfectly legal in a lot of countries such as the UK, UAE and USA but you will have to check your countries regulations.     Yes, Al-Hikmah Kids Academy maintains a high standard of classroom adab (etiquette) to create an optimal learning environment. We take classroom rules very seriously and expect parents to ensure their children understand and adhere to them before starting the school. Key expectations include: - Respect for Teachers: Students must show respect for their teachers at all times, including listening attentively and following instructions without disruption. - Raise Hand to Speak: Students are encouraged to raise their hand if they have a question or wish to contribute to the discussion. - No Phone Usage: The use of phones during class is strictly prohibited. We strongly encourage parents to support this rule by not allowing their children access to their phones during class sessions. These are some of the rules to ensure a respectful and productive learning atmosphere for all students and staff. We believe that by maintaining these standards, we can provide the most effective educational experience possible at Al-Hikmah Kids Academy.
  • Is there a uniform policy at Al-Hikmah Kids Academy?
    Yes, to ensure a respectful and focused online learning environment. From Year 3 onward, girls must wear a hijab, any color. All students should dress modestly and avoid clothing with faces or distracting graphics.
  • When should payments be made for enrollment at Al-Hikmah Kids Academy?
    Payments for enrolment at Al-Hikmah Kids Academy should be made at the time of registration to secure your child's spot in the academy. We encourage early registration to ensure placement, as spots are limited. For ongoing sessions, payments are typically due on the 1st of each month. We offer various payment plans and methods to accommodate different needs, and detailed payment schedules are provided upon enrolment.   • Which platforms are used for classes and communication at Al-Hikmah Kids Academy?
    Our classes are conducted online using Zoom for live lessons. Additionally, we utilize the Seesaw app and WhatsApp for communication, sharing resources, and class updates, homework, etc. These platforms ensure smooth and effective interaction between teachers, students, and parents.
  • How does Al-Hikmah Kids Academy support secondary students in preparing for their GCSE/IGCSE examinations?
    At Al-Hikmah Kids Academy, we prepare secondary students for both GCSE and IGCSE examinations. However, we are not an accredited exam centre. This means that parents need to register their children for the GCSE/IGCSE exams at an approved exam centre.
