Choosing an online Islamic school: six questions to ask
The questions that matter most when you compare online Islamic schools, and how
Ask six things before you choose: which curriculum is taught and how Islam is woven into it, whether lessons are live, whether boys and girls are taught separately, how you will see your child’s progress, what the full cost is, and whether you can try it first.
1. Which curriculum, and how is Islam part of it?
2. Are lessons live?
Yes. Every lesson is taught live on Zoom by a real teacher, Monday to Thursday. Recorded lessons, with audio and screen only, are available where possible, so children can catch up when they need to.
3. Are boys and girls taught separately?
From Year 5, boys and girls learn in separate schools: the Boys’ School is taught by male teachers and the Girls’ School by female teachers. Year 1 to 4 learn together in mixed classes in the Junior School. Reception and the Junior School are taught by female teachers.
4. How will I see my child’s progress?
Families follow schoolwork, report cards, fees and messages in the academy’s parent portal, and every child has a mid-year parents’ evening and an end-of-year report.
5. What does it cost in full?
Monthly fees start from £85 for Reception, £99 for Year 1 to 6, £125 for Year 7 to 9, £160 for Year 10 and £185 for Year 11. A one-time, non-refundable registration fee also applies (£15 to £40, by year group), and a 3.5% payment processing fee is added to each payment. Termly and yearly plans save more.
6. Can we try before we commit?
Yes. Every family can book a FREE 2-day trial and join live lessons with their child’s year group before deciding. Admissions are open all year round.
